Essentially I will be presenting how we enable young children to be happy and thrive when leaving home at 10, whilst preparing them for the transition to senior school- making them 'senior school ready'
It will encapsulate the acronym of CARE, as in pastoral care. Community, attendance, relationships, empathy.
Routine is at the heart of all we deliver and I will give a whistle stop tour of the day in the life of a Waihi boarder also.
You will probably want to highlight I taught for 18 years in Independent Secondary Schools in the UK, including 2 boarding schools, and am now in my 6th year as Deputy Head Pastoral, Head of Boarding at Waihi (a prep school), meaning my experience gives me the fortunate experience of seeing a child develop across the whole age range.
